A moving visit to the
oncology and haematology wards of the South children’s hospital of
the province of Santiago de Cuba, was made by a representation of
journalists of the territory who shared some hours with the infants.
The children enjoyed a
recreational activity that included sweet and goodies, besides a
collection story and colouring books that they were given them by
the visitors.
Together
with this, they were happy with the therapy of laughter that Dr.
Manuel Jarque, specialist in Oncology imparts, who together with the
magician Caesar, got dressed as a clown and went around the
different wards to make the hearts of the little ones happy.
This initiative came about
from a proposal from the Ernesto Medialdea Cañizal delegation of
retired journalists, and for the last two years all the workers of
the press in the territory were added. This noble gesture is part of
the Day of the Cuban Press that is taking place with a special
incentive in this province, because it has earned the central
national act, for its results obtained in 2009.
